President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated his compatriots on the 555th anniversary of the miraculous Zhirovichi Icon of the Mother of God and the 505th anniversary of the Holy Dormition Zhirovichi Monastery foundation. “For more than half a century the prayer for the well-being of the native land has been heard here, and the miracle-working icon, which exudes healing power, attracts pilgrims from all over the world. Millions of people find hope by touching the shrine and are spiritually enriched by visiting the monastery”, the congratulatory message reads. A festive divine service will be held in the monastery today.
